Build Diverse Boards

CLS on behalf of our members, will:

  • Work with recruitment firms and other partners to compile a list of candidates from underrepresented populations, including candidates from other industries that have requisite functional expertise for board membership
  • Through the Racial and Social Equity Initiative, negotiate and fund 10 spots in a Board of Directors immersion program for individuals from our underrepresented populations to prepare them for board candidacy
  • Increase underrepresented populations on member company boards by providing networks and resources to fill open slates with diverse candidates

Annual Metrics

  • Track how member companies are meeting the requirements of SB826 and AB979
  • Identify 10 candidates to take the Racial and Social Equity Initiative negotiated spots and promote those candidates to member companies
  • Report on the progress of those candidates in securing board seats
