Building diverse boards (Statewide) – CLS is working to increase diversity and inclusion at the board level by providing networks and resources to board ready diverse leaders, and forging partnerships with organizations focused on acclimating diverse leaders to the board environment.
- Work with recruitment firms and other partners to compile a list of candidates from BIPOC populations, including candidates from other industries that have requisite functional expertise for board membership
- Negotiate and fund a specific number of spots in a Board of Directors immersion program for individuals from POC populations to prepare them for board candidacy
- Increase BIPOC populations on member company boards by providing networks and resources to fill open slates with diverse candidates
- Support legislation, policies, and initiatives that increase diversity and inclusion in workplaces, especially, the policies aiming to close the gap at the board level.
