Concord Life Science Center Open House

Please join East Bay Bio Network, Concord Life Science Center (CLSC) and City of Concord in partnership with First Republic Bank to explore over 20,000 sq. ft. of flexible and affordable collaborative working laboratory space.

The event will include an esteemed panel of speakers to discuss the fast growing East Bay life science ecosystem.

Enjoy food and drinks while touring the facility and connecting with our local business leaders in life science.

Speaker Bios:
William (Obi) Greenman, President and CEO of Cerus
Obi Greenman is the President and CEO of Cerus, a biomedical product company focused in the field of blood transfusion safety based in Concord. The INTERCEPT Blood System is designed to reduce the risk of transfusion-transmitted infections by inactivating a broad range of pathogens that may be present in donated blood. Obi has been the President and CEO of Cerus since 2011 and with the company since 1995.

Juan Munoz, CEO of CLSC
Juan Munoz is the Founder/CEO of CLSC and Prime Analytical Laboratories. He has over 35 years of experience in BioPharma and the contract testing lab industry. He has founded 5 companies in the life science contract testing space with successful exits. He is passionate about building a life science ecosystem in the Concord area and has so far attracted 7 start-up companies to operate at CLSC.

Bill Shea, VP of R&D & Operation, Sensill
Bill Shea is the VP of R&D and Operations of Sensill, a diagnostic company located at CLSC that develops transformative technology for early bacterial identification at point of care that will reduce hospital stays and improve patient outcomes. Bill has over 30 years of medical device experience including diversified roles in manufacturing, technical service, research and engineering/product development. Prior to Sensill, he worked for Cerebrotech Medical Systems, Clarity Medical Systems, and Nellcor where he headed the Pulse Oxymetry Hardware Group.

Janelle Muranaka, East Bay Bio Network and VP of Operations of Meissa Vaccines
Janelle Muranaka is the VP of Operations at Meissa Vaccines, a clinical-stage company developing live attenuated vaccine candidates against respiratory viruses, including RSV and SARS-CoV-2. Janelle is an experienced leader in strategic and operational growth for biotech start-ups. In addition to her role at Meissa, she is an active organizer for East Bay Bio Network, Tri-Valley Life Sciences Summit, NextTech Speaker Series, and advisor to Daybreak labs.
