SUMMARY:Enhancing Bioavailability and Manufacturability with Enabling Formulation Technologies for Oral Small Molecule Drug Product Development
DESCRIPTION:From Lead Optimization and Candidate Nomination Through Clinical Development \nIt is well known that a majority of small molecule late discovery and development pipelines are populated by compounds that are poorly soluble\, and/or permeable. This has resulted in increasing use of established and emerging technologies to address these limitations. There are multiple ways that enabling technologies are impactful on the overall drug development effort\, among them: \n\nRendering poorly soluble molecules into tractable entities\, with respect to: Solubility\, Supersaturation on dissolution\, Absorption and PK profile\nEnhancing the ability to efficiently modify and optimize the performance of drug products in response to pre-preclinical\, preclinical and early clinical in vivo data\nHelping to ensure that the dosage form(s) used in clinical development are appropriate to the target\, with respect to pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) profiles\n\nThe workshop will describe and discuss approaches\, with case studies\, that address the iterative\, interdependent\, multidisciplinary nature of effective drug product development\, with focus on small molecules that require enabling technologies. \nREGISTER» \nHosted by:

SUMMARY:2025 U.S.-Japan Healthcare Connection Reverse Pitch Event on November 13th
DESCRIPTION:Looking for investors or strategic partners? Are you interested in the Japanese market? Come hear pitches from leading Japanese and US corporations about what they offer as potential partners. This “Reverse Pitch” event flips the script on the usual pitch event – strategic partners will be pitching their priorities and capabilities in order to tell startup companies why they should be working with them. \nThis is the 5th year that US-Japan Healthcare Connection will be organizing a Reverse Pitch event. Presenting companies are still being finalized\, but past Reverse Pitch programs have featured companies like Asahi Intecc\, Fujikura\, Mitsubishi Corporation\, Nipro\, Nissan Chemicals\, Recor Medical\, Sysmex\, and Teijin Pharma. \nThis year’s companies are particularly interested in meeting leading medtech\, diagnostic and life science startups. This year we are proud to be partnering with Biocom USA to bring together a great group of startups and strategic partners. The pitches will be followed by a short reception and opportunity for the attendees and pitching companies to meet with each other and arrange follow up meetings. \nIf you are interested in attending\, please complete the questionnaire in the registration form. \nREGISTER» \nHosted by:

SUMMARY:Rapid epigenomic classification of acute leukemia
DESCRIPTION:Unlock the potential for faster\, more comprehensive leukemia characterization with this webinar from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute expert Salvatore Benfatto. \nAcute leukemia (AL) is an aggressive form of blood cancer that requires precise molecular classification and urgent treatment. However\, standard-of-care diagnostic tests are time- and resource-intensive and do not capture the full spectrum of AL heterogeneity\, making diagnosis and basic research investigations into AL a challenge. Researchers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (MA\, USA) have developed MARLIN (methylation and AI-guided rapid leukemia subtype inference)\, a machine learning tool currently for research use only that enables the rapid classification of acute leukemia using real-time DNA methylation data generated by Oxford Nanopore sequencing. In both retrospective and prospective studies\, Oxford Nanopore sequencing enabled MARLIN to deliver accurate molecular subtyping within two hours. This approach highlights the potential of nanopore technology to support faster\, more comprehensive leukemia characterization. \nREGISTER» \nHosted by:

SUMMARY:More Than Pink Walk
DESCRIPTION:What is the MORE THAN PINK Walk?\nThe MORE THAN PINK Walk\, Susan G. Komen’s largest fundraising event series\, evolved from the Race for the Cure in 2018. Each year\, we host over 100\,000 participants at our 40+ in-person (and one virtual) walks across the U.S. Since the first Walk in 2018\, our participants have raised more than $60 million dollars and continue to be a part of a community committed to our vision of a world without breast cancer. \nWith inclusive and accessible options for people of all ages and abilities – including breast cancer survivors\, those currently in treatment for breast cancer and people living with metastatic breast cancer – the Walk provides participants the opportunity to come together and connect in meaningful ways. It allows us to focus on sharing our passion\, sharing our stories and connecting with others\, all while fundraising to support life-saving programs and research. \nOur finish line is a world without breast cancer\, and we know the only way we can get there is together. \nWhat does it mean to be More Than Pink?\nFor too long\, pink has been connected to breast cancer awareness. However\, people impacted by breast cancer need more than awareness; they need access to treatment\, emotional support and so much more. It will take more than pink to help achieve our vision of a world without breast cancer. \nIt’s more than a pink-themed costume\, wig or pink ribbon at a fundraising event and it’s more than one month a year. Together\, we are More Than Pink: passionate and supportive people dedicated to supporting those who need help today while tirelessly searching for tomorrow’s cures. \nREGISTER» \nView FullscreenSkip to PDF content\n

SUMMARY:Breakfast briefing: Navigating California’s climate disclosure mandates (SB 253 & SB 261)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for your first cup of coffee at our morning seminar to help companies understand and prepare for compliance with California’s groundbreaking climate legislation: the Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act (SB 253) and the Climate-Related Financial Risk Act (SB 261). \nIn today’s fragmented regulatory landscape\, California has pulled ahead with the introduction of corporate climate disclosure mandates\, which will begin to apply from 1 January 2026. These new laws have wide-ranging application and will require thousands of companies to disclose greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related financial risks regardless of where they are headquartered. In anticipation of the draft disclosure requirements for SB 253 (the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking) being published on October 14th\, our seminar will focus on how companies can prepare to meet the upcoming requirements as effectively and efficiently as possible. \nREGISTER» \nHosted by:
