As a successful executive with a wealth of experience in academic administration, Nicole Anderson is a proven leader with exceptional communication skills, adept at analyzing complex issues, and developing efficient strategies to enhance overall productivity. Her expertise includes negotiation, relationship management, and an
extensive understanding of academic policies, laws, and regulations.
Nicole currently serves as the Vice President and Executive Vice Dean of Academic Affairs at Cedars-Sinai. In this role, she is at the forefront of the institution’s transformation from a single hospital to a multi-hospital healthcare system and graduate school. Nicole leads the development and implementation of innovative strategic and
operational plans for the academic enterprise, overseeing a $500M portfolio. Among her notable achievements is the successful leadership of a team in developing the Chuck Lorre School of Allied Health’s strategic, business, and implementation plan.
Nicole’s leadership role involves strategic and administrative planning with research faculty, vice deans, department chairs, and directors. She is instrumental in coordinating and implementing new research initiatives, providing research core facilities, space, and support systems. Her strategic insights and effective execution have been pivotal in guiding Cedars-Sinai’s academic enterprise through a period of transformative growth.
As the former Director of the Office of Research Administration at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Nicole played a key role in overseeing research administration operations in a $700M research enterprise. Her adept negotiation skills resulted in expansive university relationships with industry giants Siemens and Toshiba, securing over $50M in research funding and in-kind equipment placement as well as economic development as they both became tenants in then burgeoning Science + Technology Park at Johns Hopkins.
As a member of the Board of Trustees for the Children’s Institute, a nonprofit offering high-quality early education and youth programs, counseling services, parenting supports, workforce and community leadership development and advocacy. She has served on the Executive, Program, Finance, and Long-Range Planning committees and is currently the chair of the Governance committee. In addition, she has served as Vice Chair, and Secretary. Most recently she led the Board Enhancement Task Force which was responsible for generating and/or updating all governance documents for the $100M organization.
