SUMMARY:Small Molecule Preclinical Development and IND Filing: Nuts and Bolts
DESCRIPTION:Investigational new drug (IND) application is an important milestone that marks the entry of a molecule into clinical development. Knowing the objectives\, expectations\, and processes of assembling and filing an IND is the key to not only a successful filing but also a promising clinical development path forward. Often\, there are cases where too many nice-to-have studies crowd in the package but critical studies/issues are not addressed\, and this can lead to significant delays in clinical development. Additionally\, the regulatory environment is changing as rapidly as the industry. Therefore\, keeping up to date on the regulatory requirements and the industry’s best practices in different aspects including non-clinical safety\, PK\, CMC\, and clinical plan is paramount. In this workshop\, our speakers highly experienced with IND filings will discuss systemically the preclinical studies required for small molecule IND filings and the nuts\, bolts\, and best practices for putting together a high-quality IND package\, as well as how to interact with various regulatory agencies. \nTopics:\n\nOverview of preclinical development and IND filing for small molecules\nKey preclinical studies required (Safety\, DMPK & CMC)\nClinical Development plans\nRegulatory strategies\nInteracting with regulatory agencies\n\nREGISTER» \nHosted by:

SUMMARY:From the Laboratory to Leadership - San Francisco
DESCRIPTION:It’s both an incredibly exciting and challenging time for the life science industry. Some companies are enjoying tailwinds as the result of great clinical data\, their proximity to product approval\, or they find themselves in a hot therapeutic space. Others\, may be more challenged\, as access to capital remains difficult\, putting their progress through the clinic in jeopardy\, or they may be trying to accelerate performance with fewer\, yet\, highly critical people. \nWhether you are scaling your organization for growth or right-sizing your company and upskilling your talent\, people are at the heart of everything you do. They are the innovators\, the motivators\, the problem solvers and your source of inspiration. At their best\, together\, they accelerate the pace at which you bring outstanding\, life-changing solutions to the patients who need them. \nHighly talented\, skilled and aligned leadership has never been more critical. We can help. \nOver 35 years of experience in organizational development is reflected in our From the Laboratory To Leadership program. By leveraging our extensive industry-specific knowledge combined with the most progressive and engaging professional development methods available\, we have successfully transformed over 7500 science-minded\, first-time managers\, into highly capable and confident business leaders. (do we want to say highly capable and confident leaders of people?). \nFrom the Laboratory to Leadership begins by helping participants assess who they are as leaders – their strengths\, styles\, and personal brand. From there\, we develop skills in the areas of communication\, priority management\, meeting management\, goal setting and planning\, delegation\, performance management\, and leading teams in a dynamic workplace. We wrap up the program in a fashion that brings all the learning together in a fun and impactful way. To drive high levels of engagement and impact\, this program integrates learning pods\, encourages participants to use their companies as learning labs\, and helps clients set goals that deliver measurable results. \n\nThis in-person workshop takes place in San Francisco on April 8\, April 22\, May 6\, and May 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PT. \n\nREGISTER» \nHosted by:

SUMMARY:Aligning With the FDA on a Regulatory Pathway To Avoid Decision Day Surprises
DESCRIPTION:During the past seven months\, biopharma companies have had to contend with unprecedented change within the upper echelons of the FDA. Among other challenges\, executives at small and medium companies have reported communication issues\, misaligned expectations and media leaks while attempting to get their products across the regulatory finish line. \nNotably\, many of these investigational therapies have targeted rare diseases affecting primarily children—products that FDA Commissioner Marty Makary and Center for Biologics and Research Director Vinay Prasad have vowed to expedite to the market. \nAt the same time\, the FDA has outlined its commitment to aligning with drug sponsors on the regulatory approval process\, with Makary and Prasad stating in a JAMA article published in June that they intend to provide “the regulatory navigation that [small] companies may lack internally.” \nIt’s clear that both the FDA and biopharma companies developing medicines for rare diseases want the same thing but there remains a disconnect. This panel discussion will look at how to leverage FDA frameworks\, define expectations and adopt modern technologies\, including AI and in silico models\, to increase the likelihood of success. \nREGISTER» \nHosted by:
