Stephanie Dyson

Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs, Biogen

Stephanie Dyson has a broad and distinguished career working across the health care spectrum: she has clinical, policy, legislative, public and private sector experience. She began her career as a registered nurse and a direct caregiver. Stephanie’s clinical background and experience positions her to provide unique input and it guides her interactions with CEOs, other senior business leaders, Members of Congress, Governors, agency officials, and key external stakeholders. Additionally, her clinical experience allows her to have sophisticated conversations with other medical professionals and provide accurate feedback to legislative and policy issues as well as medical and research teams.

Stephanie has held multiple senior-leadership positions in prestigious institutions. As the Deputy Office Director at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) she has a unique lens into the workings of career and political appointees and how to leverage interactions with this critical federal agency. Stephanie also served as a Vice President at United Health Group, Senior Director of Public Policy and Reimbursement at Genentech, and Vice President at DaVita (now Healthcare Partners). This varied experience across health industries allows Stephanie to see how policy changes impact the broader environment and advise senior business leaders in making informed decisions. Currently, Stephanie is the Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs at Biogen where she directs the strategy for federal, state, and local government engagement to align with the business goals of the entire company. Stephanie directly advises the CEO, and also sits on several Leadership Teams across Biogen to ensure alignment and pull through of business-critical functions with C-suite level executives.

In addition to her training as a registered nurse, Stephanie also received a master’s degree in Political Management and Policy from The George Washington University. She has been married to Charlie Dyson, the love of her life, for over 25 years.
