Angela Stewart

Angela Stewart serves as Vice President, Global Government Affairs for Danaher Diagnostics, a role she has held since January 2025. In this capacity, Angela leads global and U.S. federal and state policy and advocacy initiatives designed to remove barriers and create opportunities for Danaher’s diagnostic innovations across critical disease areas. Her work encompasses strategic lobbying, coalition building, and engagement with trade and professional associations to advance policies that improve patient access to innovative diagnostic solutions.

Prior to her current role, Angela directed Government Affairs at Cepheid for six years, a Danaher diagnostics company. During the COVID-19 pandemic, GA played a pivotal role in securing U.S. Government procurement of Cepheid’s four-plex test and achieving permanent Medicare reimbursement, an outcome that significantly expanded access to patients for advanced testing.

Angela’s career spans positions in government affairs at West Health, Merck & Co., Inc., and Schering-Plough Corporation. At Merck, working with key women’s health groups, Angela was successful in efforts to include contraceptives in the Affordable Care Act’s first dollar coverage provisions. Earlier in her career, she served for seven years on the staff of former U.S. Senator John Warner (R-VA), where she managed health care policy issues.

A Virginia native, Angela earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from William & Mary Law School. She began her legal career as a litigation associate at Jenner & Block in Chicago and McGuireWoods in Washington, D.C., after clerking for a federal judge in the Western District of Virginia.
