John Dimos, PhD, is Vice President and Head of Alexandria LaunchLabs – San Francisco Bay Area at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. and Alexandria Venture Investments. He co-manages Bay Area investments for the $1.5B life science portfolio and oversees operations for LaunchLabs-Stanford, Alexandria’s first SF Bay Area incubator. Previously, he was the founding CEO of Fountain Therapeutics, a drug discovery company focused on diseases of aging. John has also held investment roles at the Newton Fund and Propel(x), served as General Manager at Biome Makers, and co-founded the life science practice at Mavericks Capital. Earlier, he was a founding scientist at iPierian, where his work contributed to therapeutics now known as Gosuranemab and Enjaymo. He holds a PhD from Princeton University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University, where his work on patient-specific stem cells was named a Breakthrough of the Year by *Science* and featured on the cover of *TIME* magazine.
