Taby Ahsan, PhD, is Vice President of Cell & Gene Therapy Operations and Director of the Center for Bioinnovation and Manufacturing at City of Hope. She brings over 20 years of experience in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and immunotherapy. She trained in Bioengineering at UPenn and UC San Diego and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Georgia Tech.
She began her industry career at Advanced Tissue Sciences, later joined the Biomedical Engineering faculty at Tulane University, and then led research and development at RoosterBio. She also served as Head of Analytical Development and Characterization for Biologics Development in the Therapeutic Discovery Division at MD Anderson Cancer Center, focusing on TIL and CAR-T therapies. Taby is a past Chair and Member of the FDA’s Cellular, Gene and Tissue Advisory Committee (CTGTAC) and joined City of Hope in 2022 to advance the translation of cell and gene therapies to the clinic.
