AI for Population Health

Join Leah Makley, MBC’s Chief Operating Officer and Lee Sanders, MD, MPH, from Stanford University School of Medicine for “AI for Population Health: Nurturing Science for Longer, Healthier Lives”
This conversation explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping population health by turning large-scale biological, clinical, environmental, and behavioral data into actionable insights that can improve outcomes across entire communities.
Focusing on the theme of “nurturing science for everyone to live the longest, healthiest life,” we will discuss how modern AI methods, ranging from predictive modeling to causal inference and multimodal data integration. are enabling earlier disease detection, more precise risk stratification, and more effective prevention strategies at scale. Special attention will be given to how these tools can be translated from research settings into real-world impact through biotech innovation, healthcare partnerships, and data infrastructure. For the MBC BioLabs community, the session will highlight opportunities and challenges in building responsible, scalable AI systems that not only advance scientific discovery but also meaningfully reduce health disparities and extend healthy lifespan across diverse populations.
