CLS has Partnered with San Diego Squared (SD2)

Back

CLS has partnered with San Diego Squared (SD2) to support its mission to empower historically marginalized and underserved high school and college students who have demonstrated talent in a STEM field. This partnership aims to give students front row access to San Diego’s most innovative companies while providing them with financial support, mentorship, and pathways to meaningful careers.

Working in collaboration with SD2, CLS will leverage its member companies to mentor high school Squared Fellows and collegiate Squared Scholars, promote internship opportunities, host site visits to give students valuable insights into the real-world applications of their STEM interests. These initiatives will be integral to workforce development, equipping students with the skills and connections necessary to thrive in the life sciences industry.

“CLS works with organizations who lead impactful programs throughout the state, diversifying the field through education, mentorship, and workforce development,” said Mike Guerra, President and CEO of California Life Sciences. “We look forward to working with SD2 to create financial and human capital pathways for students to gain hands-on exposure to the life sciences.”

Partnerships, like SD2, are part of a tapestry of DEI and workforce development programs, partners, and best practices that CLS promotes with the intention of more effectively fostering an inclusive community of diverse life science professionals.
