Seeking Corporate Hosts for 26-Week Internships to Nurture and Champion Talent in Under-Represented Populations
Year Up, a workforce development non-profit that rigorously prepares underserved young adults for successful corporate careers and higher education, has come to California and is seeking corporate hosts for 26-week internships beginning in July/August. Year Up interns work 36 hours per week.
Join companies like Audentes Therapeutics and Merck as corporate hosts! Corporate hosts are asked to invest in their intern at the entry-level talent costs. For more information about becoming a Corporate Host, please contact Eric Colston at [email protected].
Year Up currently prepares under-represented young adults for non-scientific entry-level positions across a range of fields, including IT, Financial Operations, Sales & Customer Support, Business Operations, and Software Development. Active in 18 markets, 26 cities and 33 campuses, Year Up has served as a strategic source of entry-level middle skill talent for some of America’s largest and best-known companies. Year Up is also planning to develop a biotech program with corporate partners over the next year.
Year Up works to address the Opportunity Divide – the fact that 5 million young adults are disconnected from career pathways due to systemic barriers and the reality that 12 million jobs are expected to go unfilled in the next decade. To date, Year Up has served over 26,000 students, 90% of whom become employed or enrolled in post-secondary education withing four months of completing the program, 75% within one of the 5 Year Up training pathways.
