SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Journal of Black Innovation selected Illyasha Peete to be honored among the BlackBio100. Peete is the Executive Director of California Life Sciences (CLS) Racial and Social Equity Initiative.

Leading the statewide RSE strategy, Peete is working with boots-on-the-ground partners to deliver an ambitious agenda of action and change. She’s dedicated to providing space in the life sciences industry for historically excluded persons to step into their own power.

She’s tackling this difficult and important work through RSE’s four pillars: building diverse boards, talent pipeline, innovation and entrepreneurship, and health equity.

When Peete started this role in June, she expressed her dedication and vision for the initiative.

“I am eager to bring my experience and passion to CLS and this Initiative to work with our member companies and communities to create systemic change that will advance inclusion, diversity, equity, access and liberation in California’s life sciences industry,” she said. “We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but I look forward to helping us realize our ambitious goals for change.”
