Alameda City Council Vote

Back

On April 16th, the Alameda City Council took up a proposed ordinance to ban animal testing on City owned or controlled property. After a lengthy debate on the issue, the Council voted 3-2 in support of Option B on the staff report which was the alternative language CLS proposed – exempting medical research from the ordinance. The language will be added to the consent file and taken up for a second reading vote before the Council on May 7th for a final vote.
