MedTech Day

For the past three years, California Life Sciences has hosted our annual MedTech Day, in partnership with AdvaMed. This day-long event is dedicated to educating state legislators about the importance of medtech innovation in California and what it means for patients.

As part of the day’s program, CLS convened the first of its kind life sciences AI panel briefing in Sacramento. Moderated by Senator Josh Becker, representatives from Amgen, BD, Johnson & Johnson MedTech, and Stanford University discussed how the life sciences industry is guiding Al principles that reflect responsible data governance, oversight, transparency, risk-mitigation, and ethics.

The program concluded with a networking reception, featuring 10 medical device companies, showcasing their life-saving technologies to this exclusive audience comprised of approximately 150 attendees, a quarter of which are state legislators and their staff.

Spring Fly-In

Held in May, CLS members join us in Washington DC for our annual reception, where we honor select Members of Congress with Visionary Awards in recognition of their leadership on advancing policies to promote life sciences research, investment, and innovation. Prior to the Visionary Awards Reception, CLS Board of Directors meet with California’s congressional delegation, and their staff, to promote key policy issues critical to improving human health and maintaining a vibrant life sciences sector.

Champions Reception

The Champions Reception is an opportunity for state policymakers, legislative staff, life sciences executives and CLS members to come together to honor California’s leading legislators working to advance and protect the life sciences ecosystem. Past Life Sciences Champions have included: Senator Josh Becker and Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris.
