MedTech Day Recap

On February 13, California Life Sciences hosted our third annual MedTech Day, in partnership with AdvaMed. The day began with industry executives meeting with over 20 state lawmakers to talk about California’s dynamic MedTech industry and critical policy decisions that impact MedTech innovation.

As part of the program, we convened the first panel briefing on the topic of AI regulation, moderated by Senator Josh Becker, with panelists from Amgen, BD, Johnson & Johnson MedTech, and Stanford University. The group discussed how Al has been, and will continue to be, a game-changing tool that is revolutionizing how our industry develops cures for patients around the world and highlighted guiding principles that address responsible data governance, oversight, transparency, risk-mitigation, and ethics.

Through these productive conversations we are able to demonstrate how medical technology delivers for patients, revolutionizes healthcare, and ensures California remains the global leader in innovation for years to come.
