Daniel Volz

President, Medtronic Neurovascular

Dan Volz is President of the Neurovascular Operating Unit and is responsible for portfolio strategy, product development, commercial execution and the overall financial performance of the Medtronic global business focused on stroke.

The Neurovascular business works with neurointerventionalists to address ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. It focuses on increasing speed and access to care through our aspiration, stent retriever, flow diversion, coil, liquid embolic and access classes of trade.

First attracted to the medical device industry by the opportunity to help people, Dan embarked on a more than 22-year career with Medtronic where he has held regional/commercial and global/portfolio positions of increasing responsibility.

Prior to leading the Neurovascular business, Dan led the Americas Region for the Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) of Medtronic, a $4.3B business group comprised of the Surgical Innovations, Respiratory & Monitoring and Renal Care Solutions divisions within the United States, Latin America and Canada.

Dan holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and a Master’s in Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He volunteers as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Yale Office of Cooperative Research, helping to bring new and innovative ideas to life.
