Sam Assmann, Vice President, Membership & Business Development
Sam Assmann serves as the Senior Director of Business Development. In that capacity, Sam is responsible for ensuring business growth through directing and managing sales activities. Based in CLS’s San Diego office, he identifies and engages new opportunities for membership within the life sciences sector while maintaining CLS’s existing membership portfolio. Sam works with CLS member companies helping them identify ways to maximize their membership through CLS Purchasing Group contracts. Sam works closely with the team on all marketing activities and networking events that connect our members with our vendor community. Before joining CLS, Sam worked as a sales consultant four years with VWR International, where he supported the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, government and healthcare industries. The past 6 years, Sam’s expertise shifted to the clinical hospital segment where his focus was clinical diagnostics sales. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Iowa State University.
